Questions about Online Conferences?

An online conference is a conference that takes place over the Internet. In contrast to a physical conference where participants sit together in a conference room, participants in an online conference enter a virtual conference room.

In contrast to an audio conference where participants can can only hear what’s happening, an online conference comes with a variety of visual support: you can show participants files, presentations and share web pages (co-browsing).

Another advantage of online conferencing is the live video feed of the participants. A meeting becomes more personal if you can all see each other. At the same time, this increases the motivation of the participants and misunderstandings are reduced.

As with any tele-conference (conferences with participants at various locations) an online conference saves time and money because unnecessary travel can be avoided. At the same time the environment is protected, as with the lack of travel required, CO2 savings can be made.

An online conference is suitable for all kinds of meetings where participants do not come together in one location and when a simple audio conference is not enough – due, for example, to the need to display presentations or other media. Online conferences are used frequently for Project Management meetings, and when regular status updates need to be shared.

They are also ideal for short-notice team meetings as they can be used at any time – even without prior reservation. To discuss business plans or other financial data, an online meeting is ideal, as it allows you to present complex figures to all participants at the same time, and to discuss the results.

In the development of software such as web pages, apps, or other common applications, online conferences allow developers to share progress reports and discuss developments with the whole team via a screen.

Screen Sharing: With screen sharing, the presenter can share their screen with other participants.

Transfer of control: With our online conference software, the presenter can allow participants to control their computer. Participants can actually use the application on the presenters’ screen remotely. The price for an online conference is based on participant numbers and functionality.

Our bestselling BusinessMeeting is available at a flat, flat international and flex rate. With our flat and flat international rates you pay €25 or 35€ per month (per conference room plus VAT) and you can hold unlimited conferences for up to 25 or 35 participants. This applies to both audio and online conferences. With our flex rate, you pay 9 cents per minute (per participant plus VAT).

If you are planning a major online conference and recognise the value of moderation by a meetyoo operator and active participant interaction, we would recommend the meetyoo WebEvent. With meetyoo WebEvents you can meet up to 200 participants at the same time via a web browse, and they can interact using the chat and Q&A functions. WebEvent tariffs start from €280 per event (excl. VAT).

For an online-conference with up to 1,000 participants, meetyoo recommends Webcast. Present your message professionally over the internet to national and international audiences in your corporate design and with many additional functions. Our Webcast starter-rate is from €1.350 (per Webcast plus VAT).

A typical online conference is usually for no more than 35 people. For this, our BusinessMeeting product is excellent.

Alongside your audio conference that transmits audio and visual content, a virtual conference room can be added. This online conference room can share presentations, Excel and Word (data sharing) files or even your entire screen (desktop sharing) with your participants. To share content with other participants, you must be set up as a moderator.

With your dial-up info for the audio conference, you will also receive access to the meetyoo customer portal. In the Customer Portal, you will find – in addition to the web control panel for your meeting – access data for your online meeting room.

Participants only need a web browser with an Internet connection to join the online conference. Participants click on a link to the online conference that is emailed to them, and you’re ready to go.
